Salivary Glands
Normal salivary glands
Normally, minimal or low level activity is seen in the submandibular, parotid, and sublingual salivary glands. This may be increased following inflammation, infection, or radiation therapy. Symmetric increased uptake may be seen in sarcoidosis with or without associated thoracic findings.
