Objectives

  1. Know the common technique used to perform a head CT study.
  2. Know the normal cranial and neurological anatomy.
  3. Identify a skull fracture, extracerebral blood and intracerebral blood on CT.
  4. Understand the role of radiographic imaging studies in diagnosis and management of stroke patients.
  5. Know the appearance of both hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes on CT.
  6. Know the radiographic appearance and pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and Pick's disease.
  7. Identify extra-axial empyema and cerebral abscess on CT.
